While @Kai-El-Jefe Is making progress on character animations.
@KageKMB is designing the levels. Goal is to get all maps playable, and then refined after playtest feedback.
If you're interested in said play-tests: follow us here and Twitter to not miss the announcement on how to get in + when it goes live.
We want to get the presentation and assets further along before we put it in other people's hands or edit together gameplay trailers. Game has most of it's features, but needs some bugtest and presentation (its an ugly boy).
KageKMB bought a ticket and is going. Get yours here so you can harass him IRL for the secret NSFW account everyone assumes we have (we're too busy making games, we don't have time for one lol).
There's going to be another run of Greedy Goblins comics brought to the event. If you're going and want to reserve a copy, comment on this blog post.

Break Beak has been making good progress. Gameplay sprites and level design are being worked on at the same time (Kai on art, Kage on code). The game is past the 1/2 way point towards it's completion.
If you want to hear 45mins worth of yapping showing the mentality and process of the level building, Kage did a short stream covering it no one watched lol (please excuse the jumbled placeholder assets)

Our next game is a a bit of a ways our before release so we took the time to set up a tool so consistent content drips will be happening on our social between games. The primary format of our post will be artwork - given we both draw in sketchbooks constantly and it takes minimal attention from the game projects.
On NG we add CubePunks in the credits but upload under the artist's individual post. So follow @KageKMB and @kai-el-jefe if you don't want to miss a thing.
Our DeviantART is brand new so to play catch up to the other platforms older works are going to be added more frequently than the Bi-weekly schedule most other platforms are scheduled to follow.
Due to Twitter following the modern social media model of "it has to be persistent activity or it might as well be no activity" - you'll see an unorganized array of completed artwork, work in progresses as well as completed works - along post related towards our games.
We do have a Ko-Fi account which is also synced up to the whole shabang. BTW - any donations will currently be used to helping with Break Beak's production.
We've been prototyping a Jerry figure- designed to be printed as a single piece, or in parts and assembled like a model kit.
Break Beak is making progress - @KageKMB is doing level design while @kai-el-jefe is working on the final assets.

Name of our next game.....
Why the name?
Break-beat + Birds.
When will it be done?
Art, level design and variable tuning; so final stretch of development. So add on time needed to to set up release and marketing materials; this year but not tomorrow.
What was with the old name?
This final name comes from a previous iteration / build of the project - and the working title of "Bit Beak" was dubbed for this final build for file organization purposes. However, "Break Beak" is just overall the better name and that old build is never being revisited so "Break Beak" it is.

BTW - Given this is a group account: artwork is going to be posted under the illustrators accounts @KageKMB and @Kai-El-Jefe (with CubePunks added as an owner).

Progress for inking illustrations for the platformer project is coming along nicely. Give it another week and we'll have visuals to tease at a steady pace.
Here's a big version of the lives icon for the hud.
Music is releasing in the mean time, https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1313601

The next game has made great progress with the code - bosses are all function just needing some minor tuning. Now it's a matter of assets and level design.
We're hard at work at making those assets. I'm going back though my sketchbooks and finalize a few pieces (posted on the @KageKMB page). Our Twitter will also have a feed of our un-inked sketches

KageKMB doing some updates and recaps
Long time friend and frequent collaborator iDs5621 has finally made his Newgrounds debut! If you're a fan of clean stop motion animation and character driven banter - then check out his criminally underrated series The Misadventures of Onipex and Pals. The Onipex character also was featured in the original Pinball Breaker and he's planned to be added in Deluxe as a future update (be looking closer to the latter part of the year when we start adding new characters in).
March community voting placed Space Girls Can't Swim as 1st place in the games category.
So far we're 2 for 2 in 2024, each one game directed by a different member of the CubePunks duo. Thank you NG staff and community for supporting us, it truly means a lot to us.
We compiled some of the pinball breaker production art - sketches, concept art and renders of sculpted models. Hoping to do more in the future
As much as we'd love to drop 3 bangers monthly back to back; that's not gonna happen. Project Bit Beak our biggest game yet and we want to give it proper time to cook.
A lot of the technical work is done - there's room for polish and tuning but it's functional. The rest of what needs to be done are all Right Brain tasks. Level desing, animation, story - etc
We're currently looking for vocals on the soundtrack: see post for details if you're interested
I had a fun time at UAH Charger Con 2024; showcasing our general portfolio. Highlights include:
For a first time running a booth, it was an eventful and educating experience. We're hoping we can do more in the future!
Hey, we're finally using it! If you want to see sketches and art from our games, as well as behind the scenes info - consider giving it a follow.
NG is our primary blog - better suited for overview posts and details on game progress. Twitter is for short daily blips.
That's it for now - I'm gonna go get some rest cause I'm spent.

So no one gets blind sided from the next release - this is how it's gonna be:
Standard Version - Get an action platformer game with 4 Worlds (2 levels and 1 boss) for free.
Plus Version - Want more? Pay to get a little bit more now + any future content added to the game.
The update roadmap will be revealed at launch - funded by revenue made from the Plus Version (and remain exclusive to it). Think Kickstarter stretch goals, some of them being :
Both versions will have simultaneous launches. Standard version will be on NG and Itch.io (playable in browser); Plus version will be a listed on itch.io (download).
The general idea is this: people like our games but common feedback is that people are wanting more. The main limitation preventing us from doing that, is a lack of real budget. This release model is our answer to that limitation - you get more and we get a budget.

Prep for Charger Con at UAH has put a damper on time spent on coding.
The next game is a platformer. Level components have been built but before levels are designed the boss fights are being built. Good progress, but assets are all placeholder so screenshots look bad lol.
